Dining Single Launches Premiere Event for Boston’s Single Professionals
Boston, MA May 4, 2003 -- Boston’s best restaurants are partnering with the city’s newest singles events organization. Dining Single events bring together delicious food and lively conversation, while allowing singles to meet in a pressure-free environment.
Although last June Forbes chose Boston as “the Best Place to be Single in America,” Boston is often regarded as a town where singles have difficulty connecting. Many people feel that the bar scene caters to groups of people who don’t diverge from their original groups or those who are looking for a fling. Others who resort to dating services and singles events find the emphasis on the interpersonal connections, rather than the evening’s experience. Dining Single bridges these gaps by providing events at Boston’s top restaurants where guests, attending alone or in groups, experience an enjoyable evening of fine dining while meeting new people.
Trio and Epiphany hosted the premiere “restaurant-hop” on May 1st, where guests enjoyed a three-course dinner across the two restaurants. Common interests dictated the pre-arranged group seating for each course, allowing guests to meet as many people as possible throughout the evening. All connections were facilitated by the web site after the event so that, during the event, guests were able to focus on the food and the new people they met.
Sean, a Marketing Manager attended the event and said, “I never had so much fun with strangers. I go out to eat with friends all the time, but they are not very adventurous about trying new places. This was such a great way for me to enjoy the new places. I came for the food, but left having had a wonderful experience.”
Alissa, an art director who also attended the event, stated, “Dining Single is a great way to enjoy delicious food and good company without the awkwardness. Halfway through the first course we were already talking about seeing each other at the next event!”
Sierra Towers, owner of Epiphany Restaurant was impressed by how well the evening went. She said, “Everyone had an amazing time. The event participants seemed very relaxed and not under pressure, because they were not forced to be one-on-one, but they could make a connection at the same time. Everyone seemed very happy.”
Dining Single events take place on a regular basis. The next event will take place on Tuesday, May 20 at Fire & Ice in Harvard Square.
